WHO WE ARE
The PermaPuebla Initiative is a non-profit organisation whose members are united by their passion for positive change through Permaculture.
Our mission is aligned with that of the Permaculture Research Institute, and is best described in their own words as, “to expand the knowledge and practice of integrated, sustainable agriculture and culture using the whole-systems approach of Permaculture design. This will provide solutions for permanent abundance by training local people to become leaders of sustainable development in their communities and countries….to live resilient lives independent of the globalised, industrial system”.
The PermaPuebla Inititative’s current project is to establish a Permaculture Research Institute Master Plan Site on a property of 200ha, which is located just south of the town of Tabernas, north of Almeria city, in the Andalusian province of Spain.
The property provides an excellent opportunity to develop and demonstrate a wide variety of Permaculture techniques for both small scale and broadacre farming.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
This project is not just about the creation of an awesome and inspirational regenerative demonstration farm, but we also want to invite others to come here to learn with us and enrich the experience with their unique qualities, to form a vibrant and dynamic community.
The PPI intends to host many varied courses at its education centre at Launa Farm, ranging from specifics of land management, such as water control and earthworks, to craft based skills, to PRI accredited courses with guest teachers. Please check our course schedule regularly for updates on current courses.
